RCCP encourages children to be potty
trained when they start school. However, many three year olds are not
fully trained and RCCP does not wish to put undue pressure on parents or
children.
Parents of children who are not fully
toilet trained should provide the following each day the class meets:
Parents should be aware that if there is
a consistent bowel movement occurrence, they will be asked to carry a
cell phone and come to the classroom to change the child.
RCCP shall strive to have Teresa, the
teacher, attend to all toileting needs. If this is impractical, a
parent helper may be asked to take a child to the bathroom or help them
change their clothing.
Parents should remind their children that
the teacher and parent helpers are at school to help them with toileting
needs if needed. They should also remind their children that they will
be asked to wash their hands after they have used the bathroom.
