Parent Handbook

Respect for diversity is at the core of our educational philosophy at Rose City Cooperative Preschool. We believe that all members of our cooperative, parents and children alike, bring unique and valuable learning opportunities to the classroom community. One of these important learning opportunities is respect for self and others.
Children who are allowed to be critical of differences – whether in appearance, beliefs or abilities, for example – do not develop the relationship skills needed in our diverse world. Critical behaviors are learned. We believe that parents have a responsibility to help children embrace differences, learning to accept and respect themselves and others. Rose City Cooperative Preschool membership requires tolerance for diversity and demonstrating that tolerance in the classroom and during other preschool events.
